This issue is resolved. Chat input in Safari and the Wordsmith desktop app is performing normally again with the Tasks panel open. Desktop users who still see slowness should quit and reopen the app to pick up the update.
Investigating
We are investigating an issue where the chat input becomes slow or unresponsive in Safari and the Wordsmith desktop app after opening the Tasks panel. Other browsers are not affected. As a workaround, close the Tasks panel or reload the page. We will post an update within the next hour.
